Upper Hand Rehab is a hand therapy service providing expert assessment and treatment of any injury or problem you have with your hand, wrist or arm. This includes injuries from work, sport or a recent surgery.

Louise Brown brings over ten years of experience treating hand, wrist and arm injuries. As an occupational therapist and an accredited hand therapist, awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association, Louise works closely with others including your surgeon, GP or case manager to achieve the best outcome for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No, you do not need a referral, unless another party covers the cost, i.e. Work Cover, CTP, DVA or a Medicare Chronic Disease Management plan. If you are unsure if you are eligible, discuss this with your GP.

  • Costs vary depending on the length of appointment and what you need. If you need extra items, e.g. a cast or splint, this will be a separate cost. You may be able to claim on private health insurance, if you are covered for occupational therapy. If you have any questions, donโ€™t hesitate to ring or email before your appointment.

  • With most injuries, it is best to make an appointment and start treatment ASAP for the quickest recovery. After most surgeries, rehab commences within the first 1-2 weeks. Donโ€™t hesitate to get in touch if youโ€™re not sure.

  • A hand therapist is an occupational therapist or physiotherapist who is focused on treating injuries and conditions that affect the hand and upper limb, with years of experience and additional training to meet the level of expertise required to be accredited by the Australian Hand Therapy Association.
